The fishing sector: generational change and sustainability

This morning, within the framework of the VI NATIONAL MARITIME CONGRESS, organized by the Royal Spanish Naval League, we had the honor of moderating the round table “The fishing sector: generational change and sustainability”, in which the key issues for the future of fishing were discussed. It was an enriching exchange of ideas between the speakers, who agreed that, without sustainability, the essential need for a generational change in the sector will not be possible.

They all agreed that the work carried out in recent years and the transformation of the sector have placed fishing as an attractive activity to develop a professional career, recognized and appreciated by society as guarantors of food sovereignty. At Grupo Arbulu , with more than 60% of our activity dedicated to the fishing sector, we are firmly committed to innovation to facilitate the sustainability of its activity and improve life on board, its safety, connectivity and efficiency. The adoption of innovative technologies is essential to achieve this.

Thanks to the speakers Isabel Artime Garcia, Jose Basilio Otero Rodriguez, Javier Garat Perez and Rosa Quintana for sharing their knowledge and perspective on the future of the fishing sector in the round table “The fishing sector: generational change and sustainability”.
