Vigo is once again, for the tenth consecutive time, the epicenter of the world tuna industry.  The X World Tuna Conference ‘Tuna Vigo 2021’, under the title “Disrupt your tuna business” was held on September 13 and 14, 2021.  The conference will open with the president of the Xunta, Alberto Núñez Feijóo and the mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, among other authorities.

‘Tuna Vigo 2021’ will become the world capital of the tuna, canning and processing sector of seafood products and auxiliary industries. Managers of tuna companies based in countries of Europe, America, Africa and Asia will be present in person and online. Currently, tuna is a product of great importance in the seafood processing industrial sector worldwide.

Likewise, it should be noted that tuna accounts for 69% of the production of canned fish and shellfish in our country by volume. Spain, and at the head Galicia, is the main producer of canned and prepared tuna in the EU and second worldwide, after Thailand. This meeting wants to serve as a meeting point where to develop forums for analysis and debate. Therefore,  top international speakers and attendees will discuss the latest developments in the tuna sector at a global level, as well as the relevant aspects that affect its competitiveness.
